State Representative Geraldine Flaharty has lived in the 98th House District since 1958.  A retired school teacher, Rep. Flaharty began teaching in Oaklawn schools in 1966. Flaharty is a graduate of Wichita State University with a Bachelor of Science and Masters of Education.

State Representative Flaharty has served in the Kansas House since 1995.  Flaharty is currently serving as a Ranking Member on both the House Health and Human Services (HHS) Committee and the Select Committee on KPERS (Kansas Public Employees Retirement System). Other committees that Flaharty serves upon include the:

  • House Education Committee,
  • House Aging & Long Term Care Committee,
  • House Economic Development & Tourism Committee, and
  • Joint Committee on Pensions, Investments & Benefits.

Representative Flaharty’s steadfast leadership in the Kansas House has guaranteed the 98th House District a seat at the negotiating table in the Kansas Legislature.
